Puneeth Rajkumar born on 17 March 1975, is an Indian film actor, singer, producer and backing presenter. He works mainly at Kannada cinema. He is known as Appu and Power Star. He was principal actor in 27 films. in his childhood, he appeared in films featuring his father Rajkumar. His performances in Vasantha Geetha (1980), etc. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role of Appu in Bettada Hoovu. Puneeth’s first lead role was in 2002 in Appu (2002 film).

He has appeared as a leading actor in commercial hit films, Appu (2002), Abhi (2003), Veera Kannadiga (2004), Mourya (2004), and others. . In 2012, he made his debut as a television presenter in the popular TV game Kannadada Kotyadhipati, a kannada version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire ?.

Puneeth was born at Kalyani Hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar. He is their fifth and youngest child. When Puneeth was six, his family moved to Mysore. His father took him with his sister Poornima to his movie sets until he was ten years old. His older brother, Shiva Rajkumar, is a popular actor.

Puneeth has been involved in philanthropy with his mother at the Shakti Dhama ashram in Mysore and owns the Bengaluru Premier Futsal team.

Puneeth married Ashwini Revanth from Chikmagaluru on 1 December 1999. They met through a mutual friend and have two daughters: Drithi and Vanditha. On 29 October 2021, Puneeth died in Bangalore after suffering a heart attack at the age of 46
