Vijay Kumar, known professionally as Duniya Vijay, is an Indian actor who appears in Kannada films. He started as a young movie artist in the industry playing small roles, before landing his big hit at Duniya (2007). He is known for his performances in such films as Chanda (2007), Junglee (2009), Johny Mera Naam Preethi Mera Kaam (2011) and Jayammana Maga (2013). Vijay’s net worth was 151 crore rupees (US $ 21 million) according to the Forbes list in 2018.
On November 6, 2016, while filming the fight scene culminating in the upcoming film by Masti Gudi, two stuntmen playing odious roles: Anil, Uday and Vijay jumped into Thippagondanahalli’s tank from a helicopter. While the two stuntmen drowned, Vijay was saved by the film crew. As a result of this incident, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) banned journalist Vijay, director Nagashekar and stunt choreographer Ravi Varma until further notice. In April 2017, the police laid criminal charges against several members of the production team, but did not file a complaint against Vijay.
On September 24, 2018, Vijay was arrested after being accused of assaulting the nephew of his friend Kitty, gymnastics coach Maruthi.
