Ravi Mohan, born September 10, 1980, better known by his artist name, Jayam Ravi, is a Tamil Indian actor who works in the Tamil film industry. Son of veteran film editor Mohan, Ravi made his debut as an actor in the romantic drama film Jayam (2003), directed by his older brother Mohan Raja and produced by his father. The success of the film prompted the title to become a prefix for its stage name, and it continued to collaborate with its brother for other films, including Jayam (2003), Kumaran S / O Mahalakshmi (2004), Unakkum Enakkum (2006). Santhosh Subramaniam (2008), Thillalangadi (2010) and Thani Oruvan (2015)
Ravi’s parents are veteran editor Mohan and Varalakshmi Mohan; He was born in Tirumangalam, Madurai. He has two brothers and sisters; his older brother, Mohan Raja, is a director. Most of his films feature Ravi in the lead role, while his sister, Roja, is a dentist. He graduated from Jawahar Vidyalaya in Ashok Nagar, Chennai. He studied dance with Bharatnatyam dancer Nalini Balakrishnan and performed his arangetram at the age of 12. After graduating in visual communication from Loyola College in Chennai, he decided to enter the film industry. He also trained at the Kishore Namit Kapur Institute in Mumbai. Before debuting as an actor, Ravi had been assistant director of Suresh Krishna for Aalavandhan (2001), starring Kamal Haasan. He is married to Aarti, daughter of the famous TV producer Sujatha Vijayakumar since 2009. They have two sons: Aarav (born June 29, 2010) and Ayaan (born August 10, 2014). Aarav played a role in his film Tik Tik Tik.
