Riya Sen is born name Riya Dev Varma is an Indian actress and model. Riya, from a family of actors including her grandmother Suchitra Sen, her mother Moon Moon Sen and her sister Raima Sen, began her acting career in 1991 as a young actress in the film Vishkanya. His first commercial success in his film career was with Style, a low-budget Hindi comedy from 2001 directed by N. Chandra. Other notable films include producer Pritish Nandy’s musical film, Jhankaar Beats (2003) in hinglish, Shaadi No. 1 (2005) and the Malayalam horror film Ananthabhadram (2005).

Riya was recognized for the first time as a model when she played in the video clip of Falguni Pathak, Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi, at the age of 16 in 1998. Since then, she has appeared in music videos , television commercials, fashion shows and magazine covers. Riya worked as an activist and appeared in an AIDS music video to dispel popular myths about the disease. She has also helped raise funds for pediatric eye care.

Riya completed her studies at Loreto House and Rani Birla Girls’ College (affiliated with the University of Calcutta), both located in Kolkata. Subsequently, she studied at the National Institute of Fashion and began designing jewelry as a hobby. She designs most of the clothes she wears in movies and commercials. Riya is trained in Kathak and still pursues her under Vijayshree Chaudhury. She takes kickboxing lessons and has completed level I of 5 levels in belly dancing.

Riya entered the film industry through small modeling missions, commuting between Mumbai and Kolkata and using public transportation early in her career. After entering the film industry, she moved from her mother’s house to Ballygunge Circular Road in South Kolkata, Mumbai. There, she moved to the family home in Juhu, where she lives with her sister.
