Paul Hogan Profile, Age, Height, Weight, Family, Affairs, Biography & More
Paul Hogan is an Australian actor and comedian. Paul Hogan was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his performance as outback adventurer Michael “Crocodile” Dundee in Crocodile Dundee (1986 ), the first in the Crocodile Series of Dundee films.
Hogan’s first public appearance was on Australian television, the Nine Network’s amateur talent program New Faces in 1971. Hogan had observed to his colleagues at Harbor Bridge that the entertainment value of the program rested significantly on the judges ridiculing and belittling the performers, and suggested the judges deserved the same. treatment. Hogan worked his way into the program claiming to be a “tap-dancing knife thrower.”
Hogan appeared on stage in his work boots, holding elaborate “knives” and began cracking a series of jokes at the judges’ expense; he finished by performing a rudimentary shuffle and throwing the knives to the floor. A strong positive response from audiences saw Hogan invited back for repeat performances on New Faces; in another such he offered to “play shovels”, which involved making a series of jokes before banging two shovels against each other a few times.
Hogan’s natural ability as a comedic performer caught the eye of Mike Willesee, host of Nine A Current Affair’s current affairs magazine program. Willesee offered Hogan regular appearances on the show, during which Hogan would make humorous comments on an issue of the day. During this time, Hogan befriended A Current Affair producer John Cornell, who became Hogan’s manager and business partner.
