Sonia Agarwal, born in 1982, is an Indian actress, known for her work mainly in Tamil cinema and in some Telugu films. She is best known for her performances in hit films such as Kaadhal Kondein (2003), 7G Rainbow Colony (2004) and Pudhupettai (2006) directed by Selvaraghavan.
Born in Chandigarh, Sonia’s mother tongue is Punjabi. Sonia married Selvaraghavan, a director of Tamil cinema, in December 2006. She stopped acting after her marriage. The couple divorced in 2010.
During her school years, Sonia received an offer to play in a series on Zee TV. She then made her film debut with the 2002 Telugu film Nee Premakai, in which she played a small role, after which she starred in a Kannada film, Chandu, in front of Sudeep.
With her brother-in-law Dhanush, the film is a resounding success and is widely appreciated for her portrayal of Divya’s role in the film.
