Priya Anand was born on September 17, 1986. Actress and Indian model, she appears in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu films. After graduate studies in the United States, she began a modeling career in 2008 before making her debut in the Tamil film Vaamanan (2009), then her debut in Telugu in Leader a year later. She debuted at Bollywood in 2012 with a supporting role in English Vinglish and then appeared in the Fukrey (2013) films as Priya and Rangrezz (2013).

Priya Anand was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the only child of a Tamil mother Radha and a half-Telugu and half-Marathi father, Bharadwaj Anand. Due to her mixed regional origins, she grew up in the hometowns of her parents, Chennai and Hyderabad, in Telangana. She is fluent in Tamil and Telugu. In addition to mother tongues, Priya also speaks English, Bengali, Hindi, Marathi and Spanish.

Priya Anand is passionate about cinema, is interested in cinema since her childhood and finds that she dreams of getting into the film industry and working on the technical aspects of filmmaking, but admits that she has never thought of become an actress. She moved to the United States, where she continued her graduate studies. Keeping in mind her career, she studied communication and journalism at SUNY Albany. After completing her studies, she returned to India in 2008 and since then she has been staying with her grandparents in Chennai. However, she then went into modeling, appearing in various television commercials such as Nutrine Maha Lacto, Prince Jewelery and Cadbury Dairy Milk.

On June 20, 2011, Anand was chosen as ambassador of the “Save the Children” campaign for Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
