Kathir is an Indian actor who has played in Tamil-language films. He made his breakthrough starring in Madha Yaanai Koottam (2013) and was hailed by critics for his performances in Kirumi (2015), Vikram Vedha (2017), Pariyerum Perumal (2018) and Sigai (2019).
Kathir started as an actor with Madha Yaanai Koottam (2013) by Vikram Sukumaran, produced by the famous composer G. V. Prakash Kumar. The film was open to positive reviews. He has been hailed by critics for her portrayal of a young villager. A reviewer from The Hindu said that Kathir “was trying to do his best,” while Sify.com said he had “done a good job in his first role.” He was then hailed by the critics for her performance in the Kirumi thriller (2015) directed by Anucharan and written by Manikandan. The film has also been sent to international festivals. A Hollywood Reporter critic has stated that “playing his character with the same name, Kathir is a particularly greedy little scammer, effortlessly cataloging useful information for the police with whom he softly embraces himself through feigned respect and subtle manipulation.” .
In 2017, he was seen in the action thriller Ennodu Vilayadu alongside Bharath. He also starred in Vikram Vedha with Pariyyerum Perumal (2018) by R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi, Pa. Ranjith. In 2019, Sigai, where he will present an effeminate film. His next film is Sathru, a crime thriller directed by beginner Naveen Nanjundan.
