Bipasha Basu is also known as Bipasha Basu Singh Grover, an Indian actress and model. Mostly known for her work in Hindi films, she has also appeared in films in Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and English. Basu has received numerous awards, including a Filmfare Award, from six nominations. Particularly known for her work in the genres of horror and thriller films, she is frequently cited in the media as a sexual symbol.
Bipasha Basu was born on January 7, 1979 in a Bengali family in Delhi. His father, Hirak, is a civil engineer and his mother, Mamta, is a housewife. She has an older sister, Bidisha, and a younger sister, Vijayeta. According to Basu, his name means “deep and dark desire” and is also the name of a river. She added “Because of my dark skin, I was considered ugly in my youth.”
In 1996, Basu was spotted in a hotel in Kolkata by model Mehr Jesia Rampal, who suggested that she embark on modeling. That year, she competed and eventually won the Godrej Cinthol Supermodel contest (organized by Ford), representing India at the Ford Model Supermodel of the World in Miami. Later, she appeared in Calida’s ad with her then-boyfriend, Dino Morea, which was controversial to foolishly imagine. she then had protesters in front of her house. With her appearance on several magazine covers, Basu continued her career in modeling at the end of her teenage years, until she became an actress.
In addition to playing in movies, Basu is a fitness enthusiast and has played in several fitness videos. She is a prominent celebrity fan for brands and products and speaks out on issues such as feminism and animal rights. After a high-level relationship with actor John Abraham, Basu married actor Karan Singh Grover in 2016.
In 2015, Basu released her co-star Karan Singh Grover and they were married on April 30, 2016.
